The Friendliest Place in Newport! Very pleasant ambience. Good food. Good prices. I love eating here.

Very typical Mexican food. While not the best by a ways, they make up for it with fast and friendly service and staff.

Let me tell you about this place. I read others reviews and was a little worried going here, but because I have a husband that gets hangry and is super picky, I need something close and Mexican. (I can never go wrong with Mexican food with him) I was craving seafood, Mexican style of course, that's why we came here. There were a ton of other cute sea food restaurant around, but I wanted to feel comfortable, I wanted to order something that I knew what I was getting.
When we got there the waiter was nice and told us to seat at a table inside. But we had our puppy, so I asked if we could seat outside, and she gladly accommodate us. She even said we could have him with us. It's was a nice day to be outside.
She brought us some chips, beans and salsa and our drinks. Made her work extra cuz she had to go around and up and down the stairs. The salsas are not my favorite. But I'm used to that. Usually everywhere I go, the salsas are not that great. I like them hot and they were mild in my opinion. But still, is free salsa.
I order a fried fish and husband ordered tacos and other stuff. It was on point, just the way I like it.
I think this will be our spot for the next trip we go there. Hopefully I'll be as satisfied as the day I went.
Ps. It took me a month to write this review. But to me that shows that I ether have a good memory or that this place was good for me to remember -

Bad service, when we got there at 5:30 there were 2 long rows of tables in the middle, dirty and not bussed, they stayed that way until people started showing up, only cleaned the tables as needed, left the rest dirty. One of our orders was wrong, no one came back to ask if everything was good. Never saw the server again until trying to get the check and when we explained the order was wrong, she pointed at her pad and said the kitchen got it wrong. When we paid the bill, our table was still not cleared, had to move the plates just to sign the check. The place also smelled musty and not clean. Don't waste your money.

Cool little Mexican restaurant right above the bayfront. Most likely what you'd expect in Mexico. Had lots of unique stuff including the seats and the big pet fish. The regular salsa had a chipotle taste to it, not my favorite flavor but the green salsa was delicious and fresh tasting. And HOT! but in a good way. Carnitas tacos were the bomb. Pretty fair priced
